(CIU) AIRPORT UPDATE DURING COVID-19

Posted on May 28th, 2020

CHIPPEWA TRAVELERS – Thank you for hanging in there with us during these trying times. We wanted to update you on a few things at the airport.

All flights to/from Chippewa continue to operate. In June there will be some flight time changes, but we will still be operating daily round trips to Detroit and Minneapolis.

Other changes that have taken place over the past few months relate specifically to the potential life altering virus affecting our lives. As with all public entities, additional sanitization of the building and aircraft are taking place. The airline fogs (with sanitizer) the aircraft in between each flight and the airport terminal is cleaned and sanitized between each daily flight. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the airport terminal, and passenger masks are required (on flights) and available for all passengers. Social spacing requirements are followed on the aircraft as aircraft are not sold to capacity and passenger seating is staggered.

Airports and the airline industry continue ramping up efforts to follow CDC guidelines, and provide innovative ideas related to hygienically safe air travel in an effort to continue promoting the overall safety of air travel that passengers expect.

BE SAFE – BE WELL
